Dear Chums,
Firstly this is a reminder to all about the Ellesmere RAFA Afternoon Fete at the Old Three Pigeons Public House in Nesscliffe. SMFC members have been requested to put on a static display of larger models in the covered area at the rear of the pub. The fete starts at 1400 this Saturday 17 September. Two Spitfires will fly past at 1420. The Battle of Britain memorial Flight is unserviceable. There will be beer, music, a BBQ, veteran cars and totty in uniform. Can you bring along your large model for a community cause?
Secondly, the membership is informed that the caravan will be removed from the clubhouse at about 1200 on Saturday 17 September. It has been emptied of club equipment. The plan is to sell it to a caravan dealer for £200. If we get a hundred quid that will be good. If he takes it away without charging us, that’ll be good too.
Until we install a stowage locker, I have taken home the 3 club 2.4 transmitters. I have also taken into custody 4 lipo batteries for the electric trainers. Two IC trainers and the electric trainer are stowed temporarily beneath the frequency control board. This may be a bit too close for comfort to Giveaway Corner. Please be aware of this and do not take home what is obviously not for grabs. Similarly, there is a large quantity of other club property presently on 2 tables adjacent to the caravan. This needs to be sorted before anything may be disposed. In particular, there are thee 35 mhz transmitters.
We are in the process of obtaining paint for the interior of the clubhouse. As soon as this is confirmed, there will be a request for the membership to pitch up with rollers, trays and paintbrushes. If we all pull together, we should be able to turn around our clubhouse in a couple of hours. Standby for notice of this event.
